Schools - Public & Private

When the father of Webster's Dictionary grows up in a town, you just know education will be high priority! West Hartford has been consistently recognized for the depth and breadth of educational offerings in the public schools, whether for the number of Advanced Placement courses available to high school students or the awards won by numerous musical ensembles.

A tour of the elementary schools reveals engaged students and dedicated educators in every corner of town. For a first look, go to www.whps.org/whps/. Then there are three middle schools (grades 6-8) and two high schools (Conard & Hall).

In addition to the public schools, many options exist in town or nearby for a private school experience.

In West Hartford, there are parochial shools: St. Brigids, St. Thomas, St. Timothy & Northwest Catholic High School. There are also many non-sectarian private schools, including Renbrook and Kingswood-Oxford.
